Take a chance on a Great opportunity

The funding from the federal government is already in its budget. It will be spent on some international sporting event somewhere so why not use it in Calgary? Think of it as a reverse federal transfer payment. Wherever the funds go, you as a Canadian taxpayer are on the hook so why not enjoy the benefits for your own city?

The games present a great return on investment — for every $1 spent by the city, more than $10 will be spent by IOC, attendees or other orders of government — funding many critical future expenditures which you, the taxpayer, will otherwise pay for at 100 cents on the dollar.
