Why Do we want to get involved with IOC?

Amidst all the debate raging over the Olympic bid, the focus has largely framed this an economic decision. It will either be an economic boon to the city or an economic boondoggle.

What about the moral issue of aligning ourselves with the IOC, and further enriching that organization? Payoffs, vote-buying, bribery, Salt Lake City, construction contract irregularities, Black Tidings, Russia’s WADA reinstatement, etc. Do we have Becky Scott’s courageous conviction, or can we simply be bought?
