CFL must put end to head spearing
Having watched a deliberate headshot on Saskatchewan quarterback Zach Collaros on Oct. 27, which knocked him out the game and the western semifinal, the league must take action next year.
I understand the NFL has made major changes with virtually zero tolerance of any head hitting of the quarterback. We must enact a much stricter protocol of discipline and possible game suspensions. Fines don’t cut it. This can’t continue or the league could face lawsuits from the players association.
Let’s stop playing Russian roulette with player safety; it’s time to act.
