One killed, twohurtin rollover near Drumheller

One man was killed and two others injured in a rollover east of Drumheller on Thursday.

The single-vehicle crash happened sometime before 7 a.m. on Highway 576, just east of Highway 849 near Range Road 184.

Police say three men were in a pickup truck headed eastbound when the driver lost control, causing the truck to veer off the road.

Mounties in Drumheller said roads were icy at the time of the incident.

EMS spokesman Adam Loria confirmed one person in the vehicle was killed in the crash.

Police say the male was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 60-year-old man in life-threatenin­g condition was transporte­d by STARS air ambulance to the Foothills Hospital in Calgary.

The other male patient was taken by ground ambulance to the Drumheller Health Centre in non-life-threatenin­g condition.

Drumheller is about 135 kilometres east of Calgary.
