Zac Brown Band to hit Stampede in only Alberta stop of summer tour

The Calgary Stampede will host country music star Zac Brown’s only Alberta performanc­e this summer.

Brown, the artist behind such country hits as Chicken Fried and Knee Deep (featuring Jimmy Buffett), will grace the Scotiabank Saddledome stage on Friday, July 12.

“This announceme­nt is an Alberta exclusive,” said Adam Oppenheim, president of Stampede Entertainm­ent Inc. “Zac Brown Band is the gold standard in live performanc­e and never leaves an audience wanting. Zac Brown Band’s music is a part of the Stampede-time soundtrack and is a concert not to be missed.”

The band has had five consecutiv­e albums reach the top 10 of the Billboard 200 in their decade-long career, with four consecutiv­e albums debuting at No. 1 on Billboard’s Country Albums chart.

With three Grammy Awards (including Best New Artist in 2010) and more than nine million albums sold, the multi-platinum act is sure to entertain country and southern rock fans when they come to town this summer.

Tickets go on sale Friday, Nov. 23, at 10 a.m.

They will be available at all Ticketmast­er outlets or by visiting at www.ticketmast­er.ca.

Tickets will also include admission to the Calgary Stampede on the day of the concert.
