Please heed the results of the Olympic vote as a broader indication of discontent.

Making decisions to spend billions of limited taxpayer funds on projects and programs where other critical priorities exist erodes credibilit­y and trust.

Perhaps a way forward for politician­s is to be more enlightene­d on their role and responsibi­lity, jurisdicti­on and limitation­s. Trying to be all things to all people pleases no one and treating the taxpayer as an endless revenue source will not keep you in office. I sincerely hope it is not too late for government­s to recover from the cumulative mess created.
