At a low point of confidence
Please heed the results of the Olympic vote as a broader indication of discontent.
Making decisions to spend billions of limited taxpayer funds on projects and programs where other critical priorities exist erodes credibility and trust.
Perhaps a way forward for politicians is to be more enlightened on their role and responsibility, jurisdiction and limitations. Trying to be all things to all people pleases no one and treating the taxpayer as an endless revenue source will not keep you in office. I sincerely hope it is not too late for governments to recover from the cumulative mess created.
