GET A HEAD START ON HOLIDAY BAKING

Prep ahead with these freezer-friendly recipes that will cut your stress in a month’s time

It might seem a little early to be running an article on holiday baking, but Christmas is just over a month away!

Here are some freezer-friendly recipes to give you a head start on the holiday season (or a few practice runs to make sure everything is perfect!)

Our rustic Butterscotch Cranberry Squares are filled with wholesome goodness like whole cranberries, oats, dates and nuts, making them just as good for Christmas brunch as well as a sweet treat. A drizzle of butterscotch topping adds a touch of decadence.

Not to be confused with trendy French macarons, our Chewy Coconut Macaroons are a classic treat. They’re chewy, light and full of coconut flavour.

Our Holiday Macaroons are a slight twist on the classic, using sweetened condensed milk in place of the egg whites and sugar, and cornstarch instead of flour. Candied fruit adds a pop of colour. ATCO Blue Flame Kitchen’s column on healthy eating for busy families runs Wednesdays in the food section.
