Re: Calgary, other Alberta cities hit by rotating postal strike, Nov. 6
I have used Canada Post for 18 years to ship packages to western Canadian locations in support of a post-retirement marketing function. After sending a package last month to rural Alberta, I was asked to ship an identical item to the same location and, because of the ongoing mail uncertainty, I chose to try UPS as an alternative.
The cost was almost the same and the package delivered in an amazing 22 hours to the recipient. My average $2,300 yearly shipping cost will now go to UPS rather than Canada Post.

Anything we can do to kill communism is a good thing.
Fire the lot of them and get the whole thing privatized.
As if a union has any interest in their customers. That's a real good one. The employees of Canada post could give two shits about anyone losing business or closing down their doors, as long as they get their wages, benefits, and pensions and as long as they don't have to do too much actual work. That is unionization for you. Just one more of the many problems that ail DF Canada.
If you do choose a courier do not choose Purolator they are partially owned by Canada Post. MyCourier shipments have been delayed by a week. All packages on heir website show the comment “delayed”. The future of my business transactions will be anything but Canada post or Purolator I will do everything in my power not to use their services ever again oh and also tell everyone I know
Yup, there will be more people like you. Once they leave and use another shipper, they will not go back.
