Police have charged six people in connection with a kidnapping earlier this week that sent a 38-yearold man to hospital with injuries to his face. Around 3 a.m. Tuesday, police said they were contacted by a man reporting a family member was being held hostage after being assaulted.

Officers found the victim around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday and arrested multiple suspects at a residence in the northwest community of Brentwood.

After the arrests, police also took suspects into custody from a hotel in the northeast Horizon neighbourhood. The victim was taken to hospital. Calgary police Supt. Gerry Francois said the man suffered injuries to his face but was expected to make a full recovery.

Police have charged six people with kidnapping in relation to the incident.

Adenye Adeoshun, 32, of Calgary; Tyson Clark, 30, of Leduc; Aldeir Munoz Chavez, 25, of Edmonton; Jean Musoni, 29, of Edmonton; Jason Patterson, 21, of Edmonton; and William Ramos, 28, of Edmonton are all charged with kidnapping.

In 2013, police in Edmonton issued several firearms-related warrants for Musoni after an altercation with bar staff at an Edmonton night club.

Francois said the victim was known to the suspects, and “there were demands made” in connection with the kidnapping.
