Three charged in Okotoks after police seize weapons and drugs
Okotoks RCMP have charged three people after executing a search warrant that resulted in the seizure of weapons and drugs.
Mounties, along with Okotoks Municipal Enforcement, executed the warrant at a residence on Cimarron Meadows Crescent on Friday.
Police seized firearms and other prohibited weapons, along with drugs having a street value of $3,500.
About 35 grams of cocaine, four grams of Methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA), 1.5 grams of heroin and assorted steroids in powder, liquid and tablet forms were seized, along with $2,205 cash.
Two Okotoks men and one woman were arrested on scene.
Kavon Sharifi-Jamali, 25, is charged with six counts of careless
use of a firearm, nine counts of unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon, unlawful possession of body armour, illegal possession or trafficking in government documents, as well as possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, heroin and MDMA.
Simon Sharifi-Jamali, 32, and Danielle Stankevich, 27, also face charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, heroin and MDMA.
All three were released from custody on recognizance after a judicial hearing and are scheduled to appear in Okotoks Provincial Court on Dec. 14.
