Five people charged as police seize drugs, guns, stolen bikes
Calgary police say multiple people were taken into custody after a search of a northwest home last week produced various drugs, firearms and stolen mountain bikes.
The seizure was the result of an investigation of an alleged drug house that began in October, police said Monday.
Officers searched a home in the 100 block of Bergen Road N.W. on Nov. 27 and arrested eight people.
Police say they seized 28 grams of methamphetamine with a street value of about $2,870, in addition to fentanyl, cocaine and psilocybin, worth about $1,240. They also recovered two long guns, one replica handgun and seven stolen mountain bikes.
Rudolfo Valentini, 62, has been charged with three counts of trafficking a controlled substance, three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, one count of possession of a controlled substance, and four counts of possession of property obtained by crime.
Mark Audet, 40 and Beverly Prairie Chicken, 50, were both arrested on two outstanding warrants; Jennifer Burtwell, 24, was arrested on three outstanding warrants; and, Jean Doucette, 37, was arrested on two counts of breach of recognizance. The other three people who were taken into custody were released without charges.
Police continue to investigate and say they are returning the stolen bikes to their owners.
