Geothermal energy a natural in Alberta

In these days of gloom around our oil industry, maybe there is an energy source we should be looking at for diversification and revenue purposes. I just attended an excellent presentation at our wonderful new library: “What About Geothermal in Alberta?” I learned that:

Geothermal can reliably round out the supply chain of wind and sun power, as these are both reliant on weather;

Geothermal energy involves lots of drilling. We have lots of people and experience in drilling in Alberta;

Although Alberta has geothermal potential, as yet we have no infrastructure to initiate geothermal projects. Places like Iceland and Paris and Saskatchewan have great precedents for Alberta.
