Nylander making Leafs’ debut Thursday

William Nylander intends to make his Maple Leafs season debut on Thursday against the Detroit Red Wings. During the team’s annual Christmas visit to Toronto’s Hospital For Sick Children on Wednesday, the newly re-signed forward declared: “Yeah, I’ll be playing tomorrow.” Nylander has been on the sidelines in a contract dispute while the Leafs won 20 of their first 28 games. He signed to a six-year deal on Saturday.
