Calgary man allegedly flew to Cancun with gun in luggage
A Calgary man has been arrested in Mexico after allegedly bringing a gun with him on a flight, according to Mexican reports.
Mexican media reported Friday that a man arriving on a WestJet flight was found to be concealing a Colt .25 automatic handgun and ammunition in a checked bag.
The report states the man, identified only as Timoty N, lacked necessary documentation to bring the weapon into Mexico and was arrested at Cancun International Airport.
Global Affairs Canada confirmed Friday afternoon that a Canadian citizen has been arrested in Mexico, adding they were unable to disclose any other information.
WestJet said they are looking into the reports.

cute little gun, drug dealers used them in the 90's, not much of a self defense round tho.
A Mexican jail sounds like a good place for this jackass

I thought all checked baggage was screened before it was loaded. We had a nightmare trip to Mazatlan one year where we missed our connection and couldn’t get another flight for 3 days as it was Christmas. Our suitcases, however, made it to Mexico on day one and were kept in a “locked” room. You cannot imagine how nervous we were going through customs with suitcases we hadn’t seen in 3 days!
How did airport security not find the weapon in Calgary?
Hope the idiot enjoys a long and uncomfortable stay in Mexico and hope he gets no help from the Canadian government.
Just spent three weeks in Mexico and had a fantastic time. People are so friendly. We are talking here of a Canadian who broke the law, not a Mexican

The shit hold Mexico has become lately, especially around Cancun, if I was going there I would also want to take a gun.
