MERCENARIES SENT TO RESCUE STUDENT

-

A chemistry professor at Sweden’s Lund University dispatched a team of elite mercenaries into an Iraqi war zone to free one of her doctoral students and his family, according to the school’s magazine.

Prof. Charlotta Turner, below, received a text from Firas Jumaah in 2014 telling her to assume that he would not finish his thesis if he hadn’t returned in a week.

“What was happening was completely unacceptable,” she said. “I became so angry that ISIL could barge into our world, endanger my student and disturb the research.”

Turner contacted the school’s then-security chief Per Gustafson who hired a security company to arrange a rescue mission. A few days later four heavily armed mercenaries roared into the area and drove him and his family to Erbil airport.
