A 1967 Flying V guitar once owned by former Judas Priest rocker K.K. Downing has stunned the auction world by selling for 10 times more than expected. Experts at Bonhams in London, who sold 11 of Downing ’s guitars on Tuesday, were stunned when the axe he played on several albums, including Sad Wings of Destiny and Point of Entry, went under the hammer for $189,000. It was expected to fetch between $19,000 and $23,000.
