Talk of separation is just that — talk

Re: Braid: Talk of Alberta separation out in the open again, Opinion, Dec. 12. Separation is not going to happen. The reason: A vast number of Albertans are first generation implants from other parts of Canada and most of them are not going to vote for separation in a referendum.

Any referendum, if it takes place at all, will be a repeat of Quebec referendums where English speakers and recent immigrants made the crucial difference in the final count. Sudhir Jain, Calgary
