MATRIX BIOLAGE SMOOTHPROOF SHAMPOO AND CONDITIONER

They say: A shampoo and conditioner from Biolage that promises to combat frizz and boost volume. The paraben-free formulas feature the “same kind of water-resistant properties found in the camellia flower” so your strands stay smooth for up to 72 hours. Suitable for colour-treated hair.

We say: Our tester battles big-time frizz, so she was excited to try this collection. Unlike some anti-frizz products, which prove to weigh down strands with product, this line left her hair feeling clean and hydrated but not full of product. Hair felt and looked smoother, even on a rainy winter’s day, after use. Plus, this shampoo and conditioner smell fab.

REVLON PHOTOREADY ROSE GLOW HYDRATING + ILLUMINATING PRIMER

They say: A skinilluminating primer product that’s water based and features botanical extracts and “skin-hydrating beads” to boost overall hydration. Skin feels moisturized for up to 24 hours.

We say: Our tester used a few drops of product after her usual skin-care routine and before her application of foundation. The lightweight, pink potion applies easily to skin and doesn’t feel sticky or heavy on skin. Makeup was smooth to apply with this primer as a base, and skin appeared slightly more hydrated than it typically would have by late afternoon. Beware though, this product does feature fine glitter, so those who refuse to sparkle (literally) may not appreciate the tiny reflective flakes.

THE BODY SHOP FUJI GREEN TEA SHOWER GEL

They say: A shower gel created using Community Trade honey from Ethiopia, as well green tea from Japan. The soap-free formula cleanses and purifies skin. We say: This formula’s fresh scent is addictive. It’s powerful without being too overwhelming. Our tester reported the product left skin feeling clean but not stripped. However, it’s the scent experience that will have her squeezing this shower gel onto her loofah again and again.
