Kinks recording new material
Legendary ’60s band
The Kinks are recording a new album featuring the founding Davies brothers Ray and Dave plus original drummer Mick Avory and Bob Henrit, who drummed from 1984 until the band split up in 1996. The project arose while recording extra tracks for a 50th anniversary reissue of the group’s 1969 album Arthur (Or the Decline and Fall of the British Empire), Dave told Rolling Stone. “The (new) songs are really just in demo form now,” Dave said. “But good demos. Ray is still dissecting various other material we might use.”
