Secret Path returning to stage

A revamped version of the late Gord Downie’s Secret Path is returning to Toronto’s Roy Thomson Hall Oct. 19. Three years after the former Tragically Hip frontman’s passion project and concept album was performed live, a new multimedia experience featuring dancers, artists, surprise guests and the original Secret Path band will bring Chanie Wenjack’s story to life again. The project’s combination of album, graphic novel and animated film recounts the true story of Wenjack, a 12-year-old Ojibwa boy who died from hunger and exposure while trying to escape an Ontario residential school in October 1966.
