Taste of Redstone mixes food with show homes
Qualico Communities will turn its smorgasbord of 32 show homes in Redstone into a culinary tour of the world on Saturday.
It’s an event dubbed A Taste of Redstone, a celebration of the rich diversity found in Calgary’s northeast quadrant. It will be an afternoon of activities, food tasting and excursions through show homes of all shapes and sizes.
The free event will feature food and cultural pastimes from Africa, Asia, Europe, North and South America. Cardel Homes held a similar event a week ago, in which they showcased Cornerbrook, located next door to Redstone.
It’s an opportunity for the public to experience the community or to catch up on new developments.
“With a park that opened in July and tenants moving into the Redstone Plaza, the community is vibrant and full of energy,” says Laura Field, marketing co-ordinator for Qualico.
“The event also features a sneak peek at Ember Park, the new townhome project by Streetside Developments, before its official launch on Sept. 7.”
Redstone’s multiple show home parades have something for everyone, from townhomes to semi-detached and single-family homes with front or rear garages.
“Visitors can tour all of the show homes or just the product and price point they’re interested in,” says Field. “Any of the stops will have an activity or food with a Qualico Check In where guests can get a map and information about the community.”
A veritable buffet of home builders is participating in this threehour food and show home tour, including Shane Homes, Trico Homes, Jayman Built, Broadview Homes, Pacesetter by Sterling Homes and Nuvista Homes, as well as Partners Development Group, Streetside and Avalon Master Builders.
Prices start from the $230,000s for townhomes; the $350,000s for duplexes; the $370,000s for landed homes and the $470,000s for front garage homes.
“The event is a great way to drive show home traffic, to bring awareness of Redstone and to celebrate the different cultures and traditions within the community,” says Marni Chenier, sales and marketing co-ordinator for Avalon, builder of Zen in Redstone townhomes. She says a henna artist will be set up at their show home at 234 Red Embers Way N.E. as part of the festivities.
Qualico has also arranged for face painting, glitter tattoos, a caricature artist and a photo booth.
A Taste of Redstone runs from 2 to 5 p.m. with information and directions listed at redstonecommunity.ca.
