1.

The Matchup

Coming off a home win against defending Grey Cup champions Calgary, the Alouettes (8-6) clinched their first playoff berth since 2014. Though the Blue Bombers (9-6) are healthy and will make the playoffs, they are on a three-game skid.

2.

Injuries

Coach Khari Jones said Thursday that tailback William Stanback wasn’t practising because he was enjoying a maintenance day. Yet the Als have placed him on the one-game injured list. Montreal also lost OT Tony Washington (fractured leg) and LB Tevin Floyd (torn ACL) for the season.

CB Ryan Carter has been placed on the six-game injured list, believed to have a hamstring injury. Veteran QB Zach Collaros, acquired in a recent trade from Toronto, has been placed on Winnipeg’s one-game injured list.

3.

Quarterbacks

Back from his one-game suspension last week, Vernon Adams Jr. produced a pedestrian performance against the Stampeders. He has passed for 3,159 yards and 15 touchdowns, while being intercepted eight times. Winnipeg’s Chris Streveler, on the other hand, is 2-4 as the team’s starter — in for the injured Matt Nichols — and has been intercepted 10 times, including twice last week against Saskatchewan.

4.

Receivers

With four games left, Eugene Lewis should easily eclipse 1,000 yards. He has caught 54 passes for 878 yards while scoring four touchdowns. The Bombers’ Drew Wolitarsky produced 650 yards last season, but has only 29 catches for 311 yards in 2019.
