11 a.m., 22 Pentecost Sunday at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church at 8007 Bowness Road N.W.; with gospel message: “Now he is God not of the dead, but of the living; for to Him all of them are alive.” After worship all share in fellowship, baking and beverage.

November 11:

Community friends, neighbours and families are invited to a communal viewing of the Remembranc­e Day Service from Ottawa at St. Thomas United Church, 100 Hawkwood Blvd. N.W. at 10 a.m. Doors open at 9:30 a.m. The service will be shown on the big screen. Nursery care provided. Donations to the Veterans’ Food Bank welcomed.

November 16:

Snowflake Christmas Market at Robert Mcclure United Church, 56510 - 26 Ave N.E. from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission is a non-perishable food item for the Emergency Food Pantry. Highlights are Amy’s Pastry Shop, handcrafte­d items, Tupperware, Usborne Books, Thirty One Gifts, purses and bags, handmade soaps and lotions, preserves, knitted and crocheted items, plus Bob’s Cafe offering cinnamon buns, perogies, cabbage rolls, hot dogs and more. There will be a fashion show at 11:30 a.m. featuring Worldserve Thrift Store, serving locally, impacting globally www.worldserve­thriftstor­e.ca.
