Lack of grazing hits top cheeses

Global warming is affecting how much fresh local grass cows eat in France. Producers often can’t meet appellation rules that limit the amount of dry hay livestock can consume, so they’ve asked authorities to relax conditions for some cheeses. By July, farmers in Auvergne had not seen rain for nine months and had to dip into their hay stocks.
