Red Deer duo faces 141 charges
EDMONTON An investigation that began with reports of a stolen wallet and fraudulent vehicle purchase ended with 141 charges and two arrests.
In a news release Wednesday, Red Deer RCMP said they conducted a joint investigation with Edmonton police and the RCMP K Division emergency response team after reports of a stolen wallet in Red Deer and a related fraudulent vehicle purchase in Edmonton.
On Nov. 13, a search warrant was executed at a home in Red Deer’s Inglewood neighbourhood after a suspect was found to be living there.
While executing the warrant, the suspect, a woman, was involved in a nearby collision with a stolen vehicle. The vehicle, two rifles, stolen police equipment, two-way radios and stolen Alberta licence plates were all seized.
During the warrant execution, a man was found to be hiding in the Inglewood home. Eleven guns, hundreds of rounds of ammunition, drugs and paraphernalia, a stolen laptop, the vehicle that was fraudulently purchased and stolen identification were all seized during a search of the home.
Savannah Korth, 23, and Connor Mueller, 26, both from Red Deer, face a total of 141 charges, with 59 of the charges shared.
Korth and Mueller each face 47 firearms-related charges, six counts of possession of stolen property under $5,000, two counts of firearm in a motor vehicle, possession for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of a stolen vehicle.
Korth is facing additional charges including failure to remain at the scene of an accident, operating a conveyance while prohibited, operating a motor vehicle without insurance and registration, and failure to comply with a probation order.
Mueller faces additional charges including two counts of unlawfully resisting a peace/police officer, eight additional firearm-related charges, unlawful possession of body armour, and unlawful operation of a motor vehicle.
