A quick look at the NHL’S deadline deals:

New York Islanders acquire forward Jean-gabriel Pageau from Ottawa for conditional 2020 firstround pick, 2020 second-round pick and conditional 2022 thirdround pick.

Isles get one of deadline day’s biggest fish, then sign him to a sixyear extension.

Edmonton acquires forwards Andreas Athanasiou and Ryan Kuffner from Detroit for forward Sam Gagner, 2020 second-round pick and 2021 second-round pick.

Connor Mcdavid gains the speedster Double A, a rare left winger who can keep up with him.

Carolina acquires D Sami Vatanen from New Jersey for a conditional fourth-round pick, left wing prospect Janne Kuokkanen and defenceman Fredrik Claesson.

Canes forced to seek blue-line help after losing Brett Pesce to injury on Saturday.

New York Rangers acquire firstround pick in 2020 from Carolina for D Brady Skjei.

Depth on the line and the cost of re-signing Chris Kreider gave Rangers some incentive to deal. Canes juggle books to get Skjei and Vatanen under the cap.

Edmonton acquires D Mike Green from Detroit for conditional draft pick in 2020 or 2021.

Veteran help for Oil, pick hinges on how far Edmonton goes this spring. Deal also includes centre Kyle Brodziak for Detroit.

Hurricanes acquire forward Vincent Trocheck for centres Erik Haula, Lucas Wallmark and prospects Eetu Luostarinen and Chase Priskie.

On the surface, a strange move for Florida, given how close they and Canes are in playoff traffic jam, but GM Dale Tallon said “we need grit.”

Vegas acquires goalie Robin Lehner from Chicago for goalie Malcolm Subban, defenceman Slava Demin and a second-round draft pick.

Knights address concerns in net after Marc-andre Fleury’s recent struggles on and off the ice.

Buffalo acquires forward Wayne Simmonds from New Jersey for conditional 2021 fifth-round pick.

As Monty Python would say, Sabres aren’t quite dead yet, adding some muscle.

Boston acquires forward Nick Ritchie from Anaheim for forward Danton Heinen. Boston adds a Bruin-esque player for the spring.

Pittsburgh acquires forward Patrick Marleau from San Jose for conditional 2021 third-round draft pick.

Last call for a Cup for the 40-year-old, 1,700-game veteran.

Washington acquires forward Ilya Kovalchuk from Montreal in exchange for a 2020 third-round draft pick.

How about Ovie to Kovy? Good move by Habs to maximize this year’s earlier signing of the wild card Kovalchuk.

Colorado acquires forward Vladislav Namestnikov from Ottawa for 2021 fourth-round pick and defenceman Nick Ebert.

One of the league leaders in short-handed production, Namestnikov strengthens Avalanche lineup that’s deeper than last April.

Calgary acquires defenceman Erik Gustafsson from Chicago for a third-round pick.

Hawks had a difficult road to resign Gustafsson. Flames have two picks in the third to give. Hawks in the unusual position of sellers, with Flames needing to keep pace with Oilers’ moves.

Pittsburgh acquires forwards Conor Sheary and Evan Rodrigues from Buffalo for forward Dominik Kahun.

The Penguins, who lost three straight games heading into the deadline, bring back Sheary to where he made his name from 2015-18.

Tampa Bay acquires centre Barclay Goodrow from San Jose for a first-round pick in 2020.

Another Tampa deal made with last year’s first-round fiasco in mind, after Blake Coleman and Patrick Maroon were added. Bolts should finish high enough to mitigate loss of the pick.

Vancouver acquires goalie Louis Domingue from New Jersey for goalie Zane Mcintyre.

Starter Jacob Markstrom’s knee injury prompted this deal. Domingue played well enough in a difficult year to now earn some work with Canucks alongside Thatcher Demko.

Philadelphia acquires forward Nate Thompson from Montreal for 2021 fifth-round draft pick.

Flyers add to a stable of centres who bump their possession numbers.

Philadelphia acquires forward Derek Grant from Anaheim for forward Kyle Criscuolo, 2020 fourth-round pick.

GM Chuck Fletcher likes that Grant can play three positions.

Edmonton acquires forward Tyler Ennis from Ottawa for a fifth-round pick in 2021.

Fifth team in the past few years for tiny terror Ennis, but this time he’s going home to Alberta and to a contender.

Calgary acquires D Derek Forbort from Los Angeles for a conditional fourth-round pick in 2021.

Flames take no chances with recent injuries to Mark Giordano and Travis Hamonic.

Toronto acquires defenceman Calle Rosen from Colorado for goaltender Michael Hutchinson.

Leafs get a Kyle Dubas farm team stalwart back, but needed more NHL blue-line depth.
