Two men from Morley have been charged after an attempted bank robbery.

The incident took place Tuesday at the Royal Bank of Canada in Cochrane, about 35 kilometres west of Calgary, where witnesses said a man told a client he had a gun and then told a teller he was there to rob the bank.

Police arrived shortly after and said eyewitnesses pointed them in the direction of the suspect about a block away. Authorities used a stun gun on the man, saying he failed to “follow commands,” before taking him into custody.

Emergency medical services checked on the man before he was taken to the Cochrane RCMP detachment.
