ALL SCHOOLS SHUT DOWN
ROME Italy has taken the unprecedented step of closing all schools and universities in an attempt to halt the spread of the coronavirus, which has so far killed 107 people there and infected more than 3,000 in Europe’s worst outbreak.
Giuseppe Conte, the prime minister, announced that schools and universities will be closed from Thursday until March 15.
The government also debated a swath of other measures affecting daily life, including to stop kissing, hugging and shaking hands.
