Mattamy Homes and Jayman Built honoured among best managed firms
Community developer and new home builder Mattamy Homes has joined the ranks of Canada’s 2020 Best Managed Companies.
It’s the first time Mattamy has earned a spot in the annual poll conducted by Deloitte Private, a division of Deloitte. It’s a selection that the president of Mattamy Homes Alberta calls an amazing accomplishment.
“This award speaks to the kind of culture, business operations and success that our founder, Peter Gilgan, started 41 years ago,” says Don Barrineau. “It reflects our collective passion for the business, our company and our customers. As such, the designation of Best Managed Company belongs to everyone at Mattamy Homes.”
Mattamy is North America’s largest privately-owned home builder, operating in Edmonton, Sherwood Park, Beaumont, Calgary and Airdrie. Mattamy joins Calgary’s Rockwood Custom Homes as first time winners.
Alberta-based Jayman Built maintained its ranking as a Platinum winner, a designation reserved for Canadian companies that have upheld their place on the Best Managed Companies list for more than seven years running.

Jayman builds in 12 communities in Edmonton, Sherwood Park and St. Albert and 17 communities in Calgary, Cochrane and Airdrie. Jayman joins Calgary builders Morrison Homes and Trico Homes as Platinum level companies.
