Lay off school support staff

-

If children are learning from the official classroom teacher online, I fail to see the need for any support staff unless they are personally going to the students’ homes to help. As this is not happening due to quarantine rules, they should lay off these unessential support staff.

The teachers will have no special needs students who may have needed the help of their aid. Those students are all at home. We do not have money to keep people at home doing nothing and I feel that the aides would fall under this. If teachers need extra help, get it from the teachers who are not laid off. We are in a crisis and we are hearing about school board woes who have the highest-paid teachers in Canada. It leaves a bad taste in the public’s mouths for sure.
