The NFL crushed the CFL in Canada. In player entry-draft TV ratings, at least. More than twice as many English Canadians watched the first night of the NFL Draft than watched the one night of the CFL Draft exactly seven days later, and in the identical Thursday night time slot. TSN has announced that its coverage of the CFL Draft on Thursday night drew an average audience of 73,000 viewers, more than double (116 per cent) its 2019 audience, and the event’s highest viewership on TSN since 2014. Some 428,000 unique Canadian viewers watched the CFL Draft at some point. According to TSN’S parent company Bell Media, an average audience of 188,000 watched Round 1 of the NFL Draft on TSN — also more than twice as many as last year, and the most since 2012. Some 917,000 unique Canadian viewers watched Round 1 at some point.
