Avalon’s energy-efficient Zen townhomes in Rockland Park bring variety to northwest
Avalon Master Builder has launched sales of its well-known Zen townhome product in Brookfield Residential’s Rockland Park in northwest Calgary.
Zen Rockland Park is a four-building, 76-unit multi-family development with one-, twoand three-bedroom units.
Homes are pre-selling, with the construction of show homes tentatively scheduled to begin later this year.
“These stacked townhomes will be very similar to the homes we currently sell in Cranston’s Riverstone
and Seton,” says Marni Chenier, Avalon marketing and sales co-ordinator.
This Zen community will have one- and two-bedroom single-level flats with outdoor patio space, and two- and three-bedroom two-storey townhomes with private, fenced backyards.
Some of the two-storey units will have private rooftop patios or third-level development, and a limited number will have both.
There will be seven floor plans available, ranging from 500 square feet to 1,700 square feet in size.
Prices start in the $170,000s for one-level flats, and from the $290,000s for two-storey townhomes.
Chenier expects the primary buyers to be first timers, right-sizers and investors.
“These are great townhomes for an investment where the buyer would live in an upper unit and rent out the lower,” she says.

Rockland Park is the first master-planned northwest community in a decade.
The community is situated above a bend in the Bow River, west of Stoney Trail.
Brookfield is digging deep to transform a former quarry site into a vibrant, green residential retreat overlooking the river.
Zen Rockland Park will be built in Phase 1 by the stormwater pond on the southeastern edge.
The Rockland Park Discovery Centre at the end of Bearspaw Dam Road N.W. is temporarily closed, but Avalon’s Zen show homes in Riverstone and Seton are open with a limit of five people.
