Serta donates mattresses

-

A leading Canadian mattress company says it will donate mattresses to long-term care homes and shelters in the Toronto area and Quebec.

Serta Simmons Bedding says the facilities have become the frontlines in the COVID-19 pandemic and face a “critical shortage” of personal protective equipment and beds.

“As a company, SSB Canada recognizes the devastation and hardship COVID-19 has caused,” SSB Canada’s president, Shawn Trinier, said in a news release. “We are proud to do our part in making a difference to help those most in need to fight this virus.”

The donations to Blue Door Shelter and the York Region Salvation Army in greater Toronto and the Integrated Center for Health and Social Services Lanaudière in Quebec are being made in partnership with Relief Bed International, an international non-profit organization.

National Mattress Outlet Plus+ will deliver the beds on June 5.
