Character actor James dies at 77

Character actor Anthony James has lost his battle with cancer at age 77. James, who often portrayed villains, died Tuesday. He was born in South Carolina in 1942 and made his movie debut with In The Heat of the Night in 1967. His film credits also include Vanishing Point, High Plains Drifter and Return From Witch Mountain. Unforgiven in 1992 was his final role. His TV appearances include Gunsmoke, Bonanza, Charlie’s Angels, The A-team and Star Trek: The Next Generation. After leaving Hollywood, he dedicated his life to art and his paintings were sold in the U.S. and Japan.
