Fiddler on the Roof gets film makeover

MGM is developing a Fiddler on the Roof movie with Hamilton director Thomas Kail, who will direct and produce with Dan Jinks and Aaron Harnick. The original Fiddler opened on Broadway in 1964 and won nine Tony Awards, including best musical, best book, best score of a musical, best director and best choreographer. Norman Jewison directed the 1971 film, which was nominated for eight Oscars and won three.
