Show home parades

Brookfield Residential will introduce a new parade of 13 show homes today in Seton, a master-planned community in Calgary’s deep southeast.

The new lineup, spread out along Seton Heath S.E. and 202nd Avenue S.E., will be launched online at seton Home shoppers are invited to tour each home virtually or to get details on how to experience them in person.

Brookfield Residential, Trico Homes, Jayman Built and Cedarglen Homes are building front drive, laned, zero lot (single side yard) and duplex homes in this portion of the community south of the Seton Urban District.

Jessie Seymour, Brookfield senior manager of community experience and marketing, says the 202-hectare (500 acre) community is a different experience than its high density, multi-family-oriented neighbour.

It’s a more traditional community of single-family homes yet is still within walking distance of the Urban District amenities like the Brookfield Residential YMCA, Joane Cardinal-schubert High School and the South Health Campus Hospital.

Restaurants, stores and a theatre complex are already built in Seton with three retail districts scheduled to be completed by final build out in 2028.

“It has so much more to offer with a ton of connectivity and dedicated bikes lines on almost every major street. This fall our first park will open in Seton. We’ve been working with the city to create an exceptional experience for our homeowners,” she says.

The Seton Homeowner’s Association facility, a 6,000-square-foot building on a 2.4-hectare (six acre) park is scheduled to break ground in 2021.

The four attached and single-family products offered by the four builders will feature homes in the 1,150-square-foot to 2,612-square-foot range, priced from the mid-$300,000s to high $500,000s. Cedarglen will launch its new “M” Series of 976-squarefoot rear garage bungalows priced from $399,000.

Seymour says today’s opening will be a full virtual experience with fun content featuring local businesses.

“We’ll do a cooking show with a little cocktail and wine pairing feature with some of our local restaurant partners and virtual tours of the show homes. Plus, opportunities to interact with each of the builder partners,” she says.

Each builder is receiving visitors in different ways with details and tools to book appointments available on the seton website.

Seton is accessible by Deerfoot Trail, Stoney Trail, 52nd Street S.E. and is on the approved LRT Green Line.

The new part of Seton, with its single family offerings, complements the multi-family urban centre of the southeast Calgary community.
