Brook­field Res­i­den­tial will in­tro­duce a new pa­rade of 13 show homes to­day in Se­ton, a mas­ter-planned com­mu­nity in Cal­gary’s deep south­east.

The new lineup, spread out along Se­ton Heath S.E. and 202nd Av­enue S.E., will be launched on­line at se­ton­showhomes.com. Home shop­pers are in­vited to tour each home vir­tu­ally or to get de­tails on how to ex­pe­ri­ence them in per­son.

Brook­field Res­i­den­tial, Trico Homes, Jay­man Built and Cedar­glen Homes are build­ing front drive, laned, zero lot (sin­gle side yard) and du­plex homes in this por­tion of the com­mu­nity south of the Se­ton Ur­ban District.

Jessie Sey­mour, Brook­field se­nior man­ager of com­mu­nity ex­pe­ri­ence and mar­ket­ing, says the 202-hectare (500 acre) com­mu­nity is a dif­fer­ent ex­pe­ri­ence than its high den­sity, multi-fam­ily-ori­ented neigh­bour.

It’s a more tra­di­tional com­mu­nity of sin­gle-fam­ily homes yet is still within walk­ing dis­tance of the Ur­ban District ameni­ties like the Brook­field Res­i­den­tial YMCA, Joane Cardinal-schu­bert High School and the South Health Cam­pus Hos­pi­tal.

Restau­rants, stores and a theatre com­plex are al­ready built in Se­ton with three re­tail dis­tricts sched­uled to be com­pleted by fi­nal build out in 2028.

“It has so much more to of­fer with a ton of con­nec­tiv­ity and ded­i­cated bikes lines on al­most ev­ery ma­jor street. This fall our first park will open in Se­ton. We’ve been work­ing with the city to cre­ate an ex­cep­tional ex­pe­ri­ence for our home­own­ers,” she says.

The Se­ton Home­owner’s As­so­ci­a­tion fa­cil­ity, a 6,000-square-foot build­ing on a 2.4-hectare (six acre) park is sched­uled to break ground in 2021.

The four at­tached and sin­gle-fam­ily prod­ucts of­fered by the four builders will fea­ture homes in the 1,150-square-foot to 2,612-square-foot range, priced from the mid-$300,000s to high $500,000s. Cedar­glen will launch its new “M” Se­ries of 976-square­foot rear garage bun­ga­lows priced from $399,000.

Sey­mour says to­day’s open­ing will be a full vir­tual ex­pe­ri­ence with fun con­tent fea­tur­ing lo­cal busi­nesses.

“We’ll do a cook­ing show with a lit­tle cock­tail and wine pair­ing fea­ture with some of our lo­cal res­tau­rant part­ners and vir­tual tours of the show homes. Plus, op­por­tu­ni­ties to in­ter­act with each of the builder part­ners,” she says.

Each builder is re­ceiv­ing vis­i­tors in dif­fer­ent ways with de­tails and tools to book ap­point­ments avail­able on the se­ton­showhomes.com web­site.

Se­ton is ac­ces­si­ble by Deer­foot Trail, Stoney Trail, 52nd Street S.E. and is on the ap­proved LRT Green Line.

The new part of Se­ton, with its sin­gle fam­ily of­fer­ings, com­ple­ments the multi-fam­ily ur­ban cen­tre of the south­east Cal­gary com­mu­nity.
