SOCIAL MEDIA HOME PARADE
Qualico looks for new ways to engage customers as it unveils master-planned community in Chestermere
The public launch of a new community typically attracts a large crowd.
At a time when extra precautions around gatherings and social contact are in place to limit the spread of COVID-19, one developer is taking a different approach to shine a light on the milestone for its latest community.
The first show homes are now in place for Dawson’s Landing, a new Chestermere community master-planned by Qualico Communities.
Rather than host a public event that usually brings out hundreds of people, the developer is using social media to unveil its new show home parade.
Each week until July 3, one of the builders in the parade will be taking over Qualico’s Facebook profile (Qualicoyyc) to host a Facebook Live for the purpose of providing a tour of their new show home.
“In these times we really need to think of new ways to engage our customers, we want people to know that we are still open for business,” says Daisy Lieu, marketing specialist, Qualico.
“Dawson’s Landing is a great community with a lot of potential for all buyers and it is important to be able to showcase this, even if we can’t host a big event at this time.”
Using Facebook Live will allow the viewer to have ask questions and receive real time responses during the tour, she adds.
The dates and times of each Facebook Live event will be shared on Qualico’s Facebook page in advance.
Show homes in Dawson’s Landing include front-drive, single-family homes by Nuvista Homes, Sterling Homes, and Broadview Homes, laned homes by Trico Homes, and duplexes by Morrison Homes.
Front-drive homes start from the $500,000s, laned homes start from the mid-$300,000s, and laned duplexes start from the low$300,000s. The community is also offering street towns by Truman Homes from the low-$300,000s.
Truman will be selling into this development from its sales centre in the nearby community of Chelsea.
Some show homes in the community are holding regular operating hours while others are currently by appointment only. Either way, Lieu advises people interested in viewing a show home in-person to phone in advance to ensure the home they are interested in viewing is open.
Virtual tours of show homes in this community are also available on the community website, liveindawsonslanding.ca
Lieu says Qualico intends to hold a public event for Dawson’s Landing sometime in the future.
“We are really excited about this community,” says Thilo Kaufmann, general manager of acquisitions and development for Qualico.
“Not only because it is Qualico’s first community in Chestermere but because it will have some interesting elements,” he adds, singling out “smaller front garage lots by the pond,” as a first for Chestermere.
“These new lots will really complement the open space network, Ecopark, that is a defining feature for our neighbourhood.”
The 108-hectare stretch of land will have 1,305 homes at build out with development expected to unfold in six phases from the northeast to the southwest.
Morrison, Sterling, Broadview, and Nuvista have show homes on West Lakeview Drive, while Trico’s are on Dawson’s Harbour Villas. Truman’s sales centre is on Chelsea Road.
