Call for post­card de­signs to fund art and artists

Tiny works of orig­i­nal art are be­ing pro­duced as a fundraiser, both for the creators and for artists in need.

The Cal­gary Al­lied Arts Foun­da­tion is call­ing on artists of all ages and skill lev­els to cre­ate ‘Petits Mas­ter­pieces’ in the form of 5x7 post­cards. They will be sold for $20 each with half the pro­ceeds go­ing to the creators and the rest go­ing to sup­port artists in need.

“As we are all too aware, we are liv­ing in un­cer­tain times. Many peo­ple have lost their jobs and their fi­nan­cial sta­bil­ity. As an arts or­ga­ni­za­tion that sup­ports Cal­gary artists, CAAF would like help in rais­ing funds to sup­port Cal­gary artists fac­ing fi­nan­cial dif­fi­cul­ties as a re­sult of the COVID -19 pan­demic,” said Stacey Wa­lyu­chow, a vis­ual artist who is a mem­ber of the foun­da­tion’s board of di­rec­tors.

All post­cards meet­ing the guide­lines will be dis­played and of­fered for sale on the foun­da­tion’s web­site. Sub­mis­sions will be ac­cepted on an on­go­ing ba­sis and are avail­able for sale as they ar­rive.
