Guilty plea from parent of fake tennis recruit
Peter Dameris, former CEO of staffing and information technology services provider ASGN Inc., pleaded guilty Tuesday to paying US$300,000 to secure his son’s admission to Georgetown University as a fake tennis recruit. Dameris appeared by videoconference before a federal judge on mail fraud and honest services mail fraud charges. As part of a plea deal it was recommended Dameris, 60, be sentenced to 21 months of home confinement and a US$95,000 fine.
