Lethbridge police are asking for the public’s help in identifying two suspected perfume thieves that have targeted multiple Shoppers Drug Marts in that city and across the province.

Between 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, a man and a woman entered Shoppers Drug Mart locations at Lethbridge’s Park Place Mall, Columbia Boulevard, Mayor Magrath Drive, and 26th Avenue North and stole around $13,000 worth of perfume.

According to police, the man entered the stores first to distract staff before the woman came in and filled a basket with perfume and then transferred the bottles to her purse.

Police believe the woman had a demagnetizing device in her purse to prevent the security sensors from being triggered.

Anyone with information about the two suspects is asked to call Lethbridge police at 403-328-4444.
