Families of elderly need support, too
Re: Time to police nursing homes instead of parks, Opinion, and editorial cartoon, May 29
Families whose loved ones are in continuing care need our support.
Our front-line workers need encouragement from Albertans as they come into work daily throughout this pandemic. They and our leadership team do an outstanding job limiting the spread of COVID-19 through dedication to the welfare of residents and by following regulatory instructions. They are our heroes.
Seniors come to Bethany for continuing care when their needs cannot be met living independently. It is a hard decision in anyone’s life. It is hard for the senior and it is hard for their families. However, many residents in our care centres experience improvement in quality of life.
Society will best support seniors needing continuing care by increased funding and encouraging those we rely on to provide for their daily needs.
