TWO RAPHAEL PAINTINGS FOUND IN VATICAN

Art experts have discovered two paintings by Raphael, identified during a five-year restoration of the Vatican’s Hall of Constantine state room. The 16th-century oils have always been on display but detailed analysis convinced experts they were by Raphael, not, as thought, by assistants. The hall depicts scenes from the life of Constantine, the Roman emperor who converted to Christianity.
