Rallies ignore pandemic risks
Re: It’s no longer a one-race fight’ as Calgarians rally downtown, June 2
When I saw the front page photo of Tuesday’s rally in Calgary, I was horrified. I completely empathize and support the protests in the U.S. against racism but when a picture of thousands crowding together in Calgary appeared, my first thought was “do they not realize there’s a pandemic that we are living through?” These people are putting their health and mine at risk. This is not the time to gather in huge crowds.
I have isolated since March to keep myself and the community safe. These people are being hugely irresponsible. This will drive up cases and deaths. There is another rally planned. Please stop this, people.
