Rallies ignore pandemic risks

When I saw the front page photo of Tuesday’s rally in Calgary, I was horrified. I completely empathize and support the protests in the U.S. against racism but when a picture of thousands crowding together in Calgary appeared, my first thought was “do they not realize there’s a pandemic that we are living through?” These people are putting their health and mine at risk. This is not the time to gather in huge crowds.

I have isolated since March to keep myself and the community safe. These people are being hugely irresponsi­ble. This will drive up cases and deaths. There is another rally planned. Please stop this, people.
