Leaving ‘U’ in can make a difference
We lived in the U.S. when our children were small and I was in graduate school. Some words are spelled differently there. I often told our children to “Never take the U out of honour.”
In the past few weeks, I have written a number of letters that begin with the salutation “Dear Honourable …” as I have been seeking to right a wrong. I have wondered sometimes if we are losing the U in honour.
So, I ask a timeless question to those public servants who we address as Honourable, “What is more important to U? Would U rather be remembered for the magnificent roads and bridges that U had built or for the small people that U helped along the way?” After all, we are your neighbours, not your neighbors. Let’s U and I make Alberta great again.
