Winfrey hosting racism special
Oprah Winfrey is tackling America’s race issues with a two-night TV special on Tuesday and Wednesday. As activists continue to protest the police killing of George Floyd, Winfrey will front OWN Spotlight: Where Do We Go From Here? on her cable network OWN. The special will feature Winfrey talking with civil rights leaders, activists and artists about systematic racism and police brutality. Guests include director Ava Duvernay, actor David Oyelowo, and professor and author Jennifer Eberhardt. Oyelowo is also making headlines for telling Screendaily that Oscar voters didn’t consider Selma for any prizes after he and others in the cast paid tribute to Eric Garner, another black man police had killed.
