Two men have been arrested following a shooting in the northeast community of Taradale on Friday night.

Calgary police say officers responded to reports of shots fired around 10:15 p.m. in the 0 to 100 block of Tarington Way N.E. According to the reports, shots were fired from a silver car in the direction of a dark-coloured BMW before the suspect vehicle fled toward Deerfoot Trail. The BMW also left the area.

Police at the scene found a gun had been fired in the incident. No injuries were reported in the shooting but there was property damage to multiple homes.

The silver car was later found by police after it was involved in a single-vehicle collision on the ramp leading to 64th Avenue N. from southbound Deerfoot Trail. Police arrested both occupants of the car.

The driver was taken to hospital with serious injuries from the collision, while the passenger had minor injuries.

Police said the two suspects cannot be identified until they are charged.
