Death at Eau Claire Market ‘suspicious’

Police say a man is dead after gunshots were heard at Eau Claire Market on Friday night.

Officers were called around 8:10 p.m. to 200 Barclay Parade S.W., where they found a body in the undergroun­d parkade.

“We were called to a report of shots fired and we are currently investigat­ing a suspicious death,” said Calgary police Insp. Melanie Oncescu.

Homicide investigat­ors went to the scene and no suspects were in custody at last report. The victim can’t be identified at this time and an autopsy is to be scheduled.
