Vision versus violence

Last election, Mayor Nenshi said he wasn’t responsible for most of that because he doesn’t control the increase in property values. The mayor knows full well that property assessments are done as of July 1 of the previous year and the city simply puts the tax rate at whatever percentage increase council requires.

My house assessment went down this year, meaning council cranked up the tax rate by more than 10.75 per cent. Council refuses to budge. But thanks for the council-approved rebate of $27.90. presently worldwide could be publicly expressed as: “one person in every 21,000 people in the world has died from COVID-19.”

Perhaps then, more people would be likely to follow their public health leaders’ guidelines, instead of some of their political leaders’ opinions, and not be so eager to “reopen” and threaten the health of all of those who are following the guidelines of the health experts.
