SIGNIFICANT NUMBER

Workers began dismantling 40,000 pieces of charred and twisted scaffolding from Notre-dame Cathedral in Paris after the fire of April 2019. The scaffolding had been in place before the fire for renovations to the spire. Two teams of five workers will cut through 200 tonnes of scaffolding, and an 84-metre-high crane will lower the pieces to the ground.
