The Major League Soccer “MLS is Back Tournament” will begin on July 8 at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and will run until August 11. The 54-match, World Cup-style tournament will include all 26 MLS clubs and will start with a group stage part of the tournament, followed by knockout rounds. The group stage will count toward regular season results. The winner of the tournament earns a 2021 CONCACAF Champions

League spot. There will be a pre-tournament draw to assign groups and the MLS regular season — the league’s 25th — will continue afterward. As expected, there will be no spectators at the games, which will be mostly held in the evening and televised. MLS teams played two regular season games before the league suspended play on March 12 because of the COVID-19 outbreak.
